JeffMacklin > Fike's, Room of Doom Rapid, Photo taken on 3-20-09. Water level= too low to paddle. Camera position is just above the exit for the "Room" and looking upstream. . NOTE the upstream pointing branch. I feel this could be a significant hazard to a paddler if he/she had the misfortune of swimming in the hole at the Room of Doom. Outflow of the hole is just about where that 5 inch diameter branch is located. There is a real possibility of snagging a skirt or PFD strap. I'll take a saw on the next hike. If anyone gets a chance to hike there with a saw, PLEASE DO ... hopefully before the next rain.
